Lorybeth Serrano

Special Counsel

Lorybeth is a lawyer, certified public accountant and former business development manager with a fifteen-year cumulative experience in law, tax operations, finance, project administration, account management, business development and legal research. She began her career as a Key Account / Business Development Manager in a leading multinational in the fast-moving consumer goods industry. Following such three-year stint, she studied law while working as a Channel Development Manager and acting Finance Head of a start-up IT company for two years. Her final years in law school were complemented with a three-year legal research experience through projects at the UP Law Center and US AID funded agencies. In the next seven years, Lorybeth, as a lawyer, amassed experience as an external counsel and in-house tax manager. She practiced law, specifically in the fields of tax, customs, corporate and intellectual property, liaising with government (i.e., BIR, Customs, Local Government Units, PEZA, SEC, IPO, CTA) and non-government stakeholders alike.

She earned her degree in Business Administration & Accountancy (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines in 2001. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the same university in 2009, receiving awards for leadership and for her supervised legal research in Taxation.

She passed the CPA board examination in October 2001 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2010.
